Cain and Abel Story (Class Work Short Fiction)

Caine and Abel were as different from each other as twins could be. Caine was the first born and the spitting image of Adam himself with his brown hair, dark eyes, and tanned skin but he was greatly over shadowed by his brother Abel who had inherited their mothers looks. Eve was from the elf race of fallen angels, who were cast out because they remained neutral during the war between heaven and hell. Elves were self-centered, arrogant, and most of all beautiful. Adam was a great warrior who fell for her beauty and she convinced him to help her attack the beast guarding the tree of immortality. It wasn’t until after they had eaten the fruit that they realized the fruit made them and both of their races unable to hear the voice of god. For Eve and the Elves it mattered not for they had long ago stopped listening but she had taken something great from Adam and humanity…..Guidance.

Using the tale of how they had defeated the monster guarding The Tree of Immortality and Eve’s considerable charm they created the first kingdom. Some called them the first couple and later they wrongly called Abel the first prince. Though to see how things got messed up you need to know how they lived. Cain always training his skills as a warrior and following his father’s orders to the letter and Abel receiving all of their mother’s love. Adam loved Eve so much that having Abel who had her blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin made him also love Abel more. Despite everything Cain grew up to be an honest hard working soldier and the kingdoms sword master capable of commanding the respect of every soldier who met him. Abel was still the favorite though and was the heir to Adams throne despite not being the first born. Cain didn’t mind though and he loved his brother more than most which was saying a lot considering how much the women of the kingdom loved Abel.

Unfortunately Abel had received his mother’s impatience and inability to be satisfied so he started planning to kill his parents and take the throne. Abel was so confident that he didn’t even bother hiding it. Not that his parents would have believed it if anyone told them. So Cain found out and charged off to go ask his brother about it. Abel was if certainly not a fool though and he knew that Cain had just as much claim to the throne as he did so he told his parents that it was Cain who was trying to take the throne since he was not the heir. So Adam sent his own royal guard to go capture Cain leaving himself, the queen, and Abel alone in the throne room.

Cain couldn’t explain why the royal guards were attacking him instead of defending the king and queen but he knew that if Abel really was going to do such a thing that now would be the best opportunity so he fought his way through all of them. Even the highly trained royal guard was no match for The Sword Master Cain wielding The Sword of The Archangel Michael. His father had once used it to defeat the beast that guarded The Tree of Immortality. When he opened the door to the throne room he saw Abel sitting on their father’s throne. The first thing Cain could say was “What have you done brother?” Abel just smirked at them “Don’t worry brother they aren’t dead yet. Ha they didn’t even think you would make it here. Well you proved them wrong. Not that it matters since they think you are the one trying to kill them hahahaha.” Cain didn’t know if he should be relieved or not. On one hand his parents were alive on the other Abel had set him up. Abel had been learning magic from their mother since he was little and would be hard enough to deal with but his parents would be an impossible opponent. Cain had to try to talk Abel out of it “Please brother don’t do this.” Again Abel laughed “It’s too late now but if it makes you feel better your death will usher in a new era for mankind. Your death will be the first death brother.”

So they fought for their lives. Abel shooting balls of fire and Cain deflecting them with The Sword of Michael until Cain knocked one of them back at Abel. Abel leaped to the side to avoid it and ended up right in front of Cain. Abel went to fire another attack but didn’t even get the incantation out before Cain hit him square in the jaw. Abel flew a few feet back and he slowly got up on to his hands and knees while spitting out blood. Cain knew that Abel would have some trouble chanting any incantation now but he wasn’t going to take the chance so he kicked Abel on to his back and placed The Sword of Michael’s point up to his throat. Abel looked up at him with blood running all down his face and chin “It doesn’t have to be this way brother. We can go back to the way things were.” Abel smiled and at that moment Cain knew….

Lee(Character Introduction)

Lee was more excited than he had ever been and that was saying a lot considering he had done some pretty exciting things. There was the time when he was nine and tried to steal a Gryphon egg, the time he had scaled that warlords castle at eleven, or that time he crashed the experimental flight machine at twelve. None of that mattered now that he was at Adventure Academy. Lee called it that because its graduates either traveled the world or ruled it. Lee liked traveling but he loved telling tales of his adventures more. Lee didn’t want to just be an adventurer he also wanted to be an adventure writer.

Lee was from a very low ranking noble family in Limrix. His father refused to hurt the people of the land with taxes like most nobles do and the little they made he gave to the king. In order to keep them from being poor his father became a trader for the many goods Limrix produced. His father was so great of a trader that he traveled all throughout the nine realms. Well everywhere except Baineil. Lee’s Mother died when he was very young, so his father took him with him on almost all of his travels. That is how Lee and gotten to see so many places and meet so many people from nobility to common peasants.

Lee started learning practical magic from his mother but he really didn’t start learning how to do the real stuff like fix broken objects, move things without touching them, or unlocking doors until he was older and needed them to either get him in or out of trouble. The magic skills also made for great conversation in new places. He was really shocked when his dad agreed to send him to Adventure Academy but an even bigger surprise was that he took first place in Practical Magic.

He had spent most of his day jumping from place to place on the campus and he had been amazed by the small market that seemed to have everything. There was even an Enchanted Weapons and Objects shop that Lee was amazed by. Just a few months earlier he had found out he possessed the ability to make enchanted weapons which only one out of every thousand people could do. Since most of them never received proper training there was a shortage of capable weapon enchanters.

Professor Gem hadn’t mentioned it when he had given him his tour. Professor Gem just said his team was special then introduced him to his roommate Kalin. Kalin had been weird in that original and interesting way that you just couldn’t help but like. His thoughts where interrupted when he bumped into a tall muscular guy with shaggy hair. Lee stopped and looked up into the guys face. Other than the small scar on his left cheek he had a very kind looking face with dark eyes that looked down when his met them. Lee smiled at the tall guy in front of him and he could swear that the guy looked surprised. The tall brown haired stranger spoke with a shy but level voice that was easily understandable “Can you tell me where the Unili Boarding House is?” The shyness surprised him given this guy was over six foot, muscular, and carrying a sword on his hip he should have had more confidence. While surprising it was also refreshing so Lee gave him his biggest nice to meet you smile and said “Sure, I was just about to head there myself.” His eyes showed genuine shock that Lee was willing to help but the guy managed to respond with that shy but strong voice “Thank you.” Lee gave him another smile “No problem.”
Lee got to know the quiet guy a little better while they walked. His name was Rai. Rai mostly only gave one word answers. He really didn’t look like the normal students here who would ware fine robes made from the silk of Giant Lanidir Spiders and magic jewelry that shined with its on light but to Lee that was definitely a good thing.

Lee looked at the sword on his hip and could easily tell it was a Xiphos. Lee couldn’t actually see the curves in the blade from the hand guard in and then it would get wide again and finally curve back into the blades point. He knew it would have an almost leaf like shape because his father had sold a lot of them with the exact same style at a market in the lower realms. Rai refused to tell him much about his past but he said a few words about his classes and the trip to Maric then politely asked Lee the same questions. Lee talked so much it more than made up for Rai’s quietness.

They arrived at the Unili Boarding House and went all the way to the top floor where Lee's Dorm was. Lee figured he would introduce Rai to Kalin and as they approached he saw their door open. Lee walked in not sure of what to expect with Rai right behind him looking equally expectant. Lee instantly saw Professor Gem, his roommate Kalin, and a person Lee recognized as one of the Nine Princes of Adiel and did a double take. Lee looked at Professor Gem for some kind of explanation but instead Professor Gem was looking at Rai behind him. Lee thought it was only right that he introduce Rai and explain why he had brought him to the room when Gem said “Good now all four of you are here.”

The Tale That Wasn't A Tale!(Part 1)

Where to begin? In order to tell this story you need to know the characters. My brother Adam just got back from afghanistan and The thing about Adam is that he is Funny, Like seriously funny. Out of the four of us Adam is the funny one and not in the witty way that I try for, in that completely natural way like it comes effortlessly. So he invites me to go to a Georgia game with him. Besides being funny he is a die hard fan and those two thing pretty much sum up Adam. So he invites a few more people to go. My brother Jordan is back in town from his job in south carolina where he does....Well I dont really know what he does. Jordan is kind of funny to in a the Rude A Hole way that somehow makes him a hit with women. So ofcourse he is going with us. Then there is my cousin Mike who is somehow a perfect mix of wanna be gangster white kid and red neck who always wears cammo. Then there is Dustin who is the sober and reliable person in the group. Dont get confuse though Dustin was at times the funniest person in the group. Of course there is also me but I dont really like talking about myself(You have a blog where you constantly talk about yourself. Kalin(Character Introduction)

Kalin was one of the first students to arrive at Maric but for him it couldn’t have been soon enough. Kalin being from Olical in the Middle Eastern area of the nine realms didn’t have far to travel to the Academy Island where Maric was located. Olical is a Queendom where the royalty and nobility where both ruled by female succession. Kalin’s family was renowned for their skills at support magic but their healing skills were by far the best in the nine realms. His mother was the Chief Advisor to The Queen of Olical just like his Grandmother was and just like one of his three sisters would be. Kalin’s Sisters hated him because he inherited his Mother’s talent for Support Magic and he could tell his Mother felt the same. Olical was strong because of its fertile soil and the strong backs of the male workers but The Queen and the female ruled nobility just continued to credit the Queendom’s support magic. Kalin often wondered how he could tell that when none of the supposedly highly educated nobility couldn’t.

Kalin use to run away from the castle and practice his healing magic on the sick and injured people in town. No one ever stopped him and even at a young age his healing magic was still stronger than almost anybody in the realm. He liked getting away from his mother and sisters plus he made lots of friends. The Sailors would buy him mugs of ale that he could hardly ever finish then tell him long and very descriptive tales of adventure and far off places. They were his real family and the only thing he would miss about Olical.

A year ago his mother told him her plan to send him away to school. She used her best attempt at a convincing voice and told him about all the opportunities the school would provide and even said how he would be useful to the Queendom. She went down her list of reasons but Kalin knew that she just didn’t want him there and was surprised that she even took the time to explain it herself. So he trained a few of the kids in town on how to use healing magic and even though they wouldn’t be able to deal with anything serious, they could handle anything else. Then he turned fifteen and left for school.

Now Kalin was laying on one of the two small beds in the tiny room that he would call home for the next four years. His roommate Lee had been a really nice guy and strangely reminded him of the sailors from Olical. Nothing like what he had expected from the preppy school for the children of nobles. Even the small rooms you had to share. He couldn’t see any noble or better yet royalty sharing a room no matter how big. Well except him and apparently his roommate….

Kalin hopped out of bed at the sound of the outer room’s door clicking open. As he stepped out of his room into the living room/kitchen he saw professor Gem leading a guy around his age into the room. The guy had an emotionless face that had a mysterious and dangerous edge to it. Top Class Support Mages could read the auras of both friends and enemies, which was another talent he had inherited from his mother. So Kalin could see immediately that the guy was strong. His aura was large and glowing an extremely bright gold. The Professors gave off a similar feeling but with them you could tell they had already hit there magical peek while this guy made you wonder just how strong he could become. The guy held out his hand and smiled before saying with an almost intimidating coolness “Nice to meet you I’m Navi.” Kalin took his hand, smiled, and replied “I’m Kalin nice to meet you.”
